Continuing professional development code to become compulsory

New dena regulations come into force. ecolearn courses meet the requirements.

The new set of rules for the List of Energy Efficiency Experts has been in force since 16 June 2026. Under these rules, energy advisers will in future only be able to renew their listing on the List of Energy Efficiency Experts for federal funding schemes by undertaking further training that includes a Training code from the German Energy Agency (dena) have received. This certifies that the teaching units (UE) awarded are in line with the content of the continuing professional development catalogue for energy advisers.

Ecolearn is one of the first training providers to have been awarded continuing professional development codes for e-learning courses – and did so over 10 years ago. Since then, dena has reviewed the inclusion of Ecolearn’s online courses in the continuing professional development calendar every year, with positive results. Every course in the series ecolearn basic has a unique training code and is recognised by dena as comprising 6 teaching units. UE entries may be submitted to extend the listing in the following categories:

  • Residential buildings
  • Non-residential buildings
  • Energy Audit DIN 16247/Contracting (BAFA)
